DEL Waste Management Company Limited (DEL) was established as a subsidiary of Intels West Africa and commenced operations in 2001 under the name DELTA ENVIRONMENTAL LOGISTICS LTD.
In 2011 our Management, in line with its repositioning plan aimed at refocusing its business on our core values, changed the name to DEL WASTE MANAGEMENT COMPANY LTD.
DEL specializes in the provision of professional, high quality waste management and treatment services to the Nigerian Oil & Gas industry using best available technology.
Built up capacity from 1 to 5 Thermal Desorption Units (TDUs), 1 High Temperature Hazardous Waste Incinerator, 1 Automated Tank Cleaning Unit (ATCU), 1 Offshore Tank Cleaning Unit and 1 Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP).
DEL is now a wholly owned Nigerian company since June 2008 following the acquisition of controlling interest by Eaglewood Resources Limited.
All assets fixed in Nigeria, and activities support local community and businesses.


Regulatory Compliance

DEL Facility and operations are in compliance with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) and the Federal Ministry of Environment (FMEnv.) regulations and have the following operating permits and licenses in place:

  • FMEnv. - EIA Approval of Waste Management Facility
  • FMEnv. - Provisional approval to operate a high temperature incinerator.
  • FMEnv. - Accreditation to operate as Environmental consultant.
  • DPR - Permit to Operate as an Oil Service Industry Company.
  • DPR - Permit to Operate TDU's.
  • DPR - Approval to re-use cleaned cuttings in Oil & Gas Free Zone.
  • NOSDRA - Accreditation as Environmental Consultant.
  • RSMEnv. - Permit for the management of incineration ash.
  • A roofed processing shop occupying 13,500m2 which house.
  • 24 x 310m3 cutting storage bays.
  • 5 TDU's each with a processing capacity of approximately 14,000 tons of cuttings per annum.
  • A control room.
  • 1 high temperature hazardous waste incinerator designed to process most hazardous wastes.
  • Workshop for maintenance of skips.
  • A generator house.
  • Waste water treatment plant.
  • A tank farm with storage capacity for 270,000m3 of recovered base oil.
  • A warehouse for storage of extensive stock of spare parts for the treatment plants, machinery and equipment.
  • Covered chemical and waste storage areas.
  • Waste segregation and mixing areas.
  • A large area set aside as skips stacking area.
  • Canteen and changing facilities for the workforce.
  • Wash bays for cleaning skips and other waste containers.

Locations

DEL facility is strategically located inside the Oil & Gas Free Zone, in Onne Rivers State; approximately 200m from the quayside. DEL Waste Treatment Facility occupies an area of 55,000M2 (37,526M2 confirmed from Nigerian Oil & Gas Trade & Investment Forum 2013 brochure).
